RE: Co-operation between Balkan countries on animal sciences.
It is with great pleasure that we received from Prof.SOYSAL the declaration of the Tekirdağ
meeting participants concerning the establishment of the Balkan Animal Science Committee.
As you are aware, EAAP has always supported regional co-operation among its members as a
contribution to the implementation of its programmatic objectives and the development of
animal science, extension and animal production. For this reason, I discussed the Tekirdağ
Declaration with Mr.A.Aumaitre, President of EAAP and will bring it to EAAP Council at
its next meeting in early spring.
It is our opinion that the proposed co-operation activities of the Balkan countries falls within the soope
of EAAP policy and actions and I am sure they will receive full support of the Council.
I can ever think that a first contact meeting could be organised for by you for those scientists
from the Balkan region attending the Cario EAAP meeting.
